After Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Lizzie McGuire and 6 Disney Channel original series that should be revived

I grew up watching original TV shows and movies during a Disney Channel peak. That’s why I’ve seen and loved so many of the best films. Disney has a pretty respectable and impressive catalog of original television shows, so the possibilities are endless. However, there are some Disney Channel original television shows that I would like to see back on the cable network or streaming service.

Lizzie McGuire

Liv and Maddie is one of the newer Disney Channel original shows, so it might be a little early for a return. However, almost a decade has passed since the finale. This means that Liv and Maddie could easily be followed by a revival ten years after the finale. The twins (both played by Dove Cameron) have already led fascinating lives as basketball stars and real-life TV stars. A revival could show her life and career after fame as a potential professional athlete and even more famous actor. For the series, Cameron would simply have to agree to return. We then got to see cameos from some of the cast, including Jordan Fisher and Jessica Marie Garcia.

Liv and Maddie was one of Cameron’s best projectsso she might be ready to showcase her talent once again by playing these completely different sisters.

Kim possible

As an animated series Kim possible should be one of the easier series to revive. In addition, it is considered by many to be one of them best animated television shows. There is a passionate audience that would love to see Kim, Ron, Wade and others come back. The channel created a Disney Channel Original Live action version of Kim possible The Premiere in 2019. However, I’m sure many would like to see a full revival of the animated series.

A new series could focus on a new group of contrasting artists coming together and helping each other discover their musical talents. Ally and Austin could start the new series by introducing the new characters or maybe it could be a spin-off about their married life.

Ross Lynch seems to be busy with his music career and Laura Marano seems to have some upcoming television and film projects. So it might be difficult to convince either of them to go back to work full-time, but there might be a way for them to work occasional gigs.

KC Undercover

Zendaya is one of the most successful former Disney starsso she would probably get a huge check to go back to KC Undercover. Also, she is quite busy with upcoming projects including a Film with Christopher Nolan. Most likely if Disney decided to revive it KC UndercoverZendaya would likely have minimal on-screen involvement. However, that doesn’t seem to be a major hindrance to the show.

The name of the series would have to change, but it could easily start with Zendaya appearing in the pilot, similar to Selena Gomez Wizards Beyond Waverly Placeto help build new leads and characters. For a show about young spies, it shouldn’t be impossible to figure out how to do a reboot.

So strange

This is a pretty niche suggestion that many may not have loved So strange as much as I loved it as a child. The show only aired for three seasons in the late ’90s and early 2000s, but it was a show I always remember because it was one of the small but fascinating number of children’s programs featuring paranormal encounters.

In the first two seasons, Fi toured with her mother, brother and their friends. A reboot could follow Fi and her children as they are haunted by new paranormal things. So strange Star Cara DeLizia has retired from acting, so it might be difficult to bring her back for a revival. However, the series could work around this and perhaps make Fi the now-deceased parent and follow her daughter’s search and attempt to communicate with her from beyond the grave. It could still be that at least one of the original cast members makes an appearance to connect this show to the first.

With the success of Raven’s home And Wizards Beyond Waverly PlaceDisney Channel should focus on some of its older programs to tell new stories in the same worlds. Many shows don’t need a reboot or revivals, but some of these series absolutely need to return.
