Boise, ID – Poor air quality remains a concern in southwest Idaho this weekend as the Air Stagnation Warning continues through Sunday night. The advisory affects Boise, surrounding communities and parts of Southeast Oregon.

According to the National Weather Service, stagnant air and light winds are expected to continue, trapping pollutants near the ground. Residents of affected areas, including those along the I-84 corridor, are advised to limit outdoor activities, particularly those with respiratory illnesses.

Mostly sunny skies and calm winds are forecast for Boise, with temperatures reaching a high of 38 degrees on Sunday. The nighttime minimum temperatures are around 24 degrees. As the weather remains dry and stable for an extended period, health authorities are urging to reduce outdoor burning and unnecessary vehicle idleness to help improve local air quality.

Looking ahead, Monday’s weather will bring persistent sunshine with highs around 40 degrees, followed by similar conditions through midweek. Light winds and clear skies will prevail, but the warning may be extended if conditions remain stagnant.

Residents are urged to monitor updates and take steps to reduce exposure to unhealthy air, especially in the mornings and evenings when pollutants are concentrated. To stay safe, consider using air purifiers indoors and wearing masks outdoors if air quality deteriorates.
