“Alabama Can’t Miss: It’s a “Holiday Spectacle” at the Red Mountain Theater”

Ring in the holidays with music, cheer and social gatherings. The whole family will enjoy the Holiday Spectacular, with breathtaking dance routines and solo moments alike. The cast consists of more than 75 actors. Bring the jingle and joy to Red Mountain Theater December 5-22.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is a progressive rock band founded in 1996 by producer and composer Paul O’Neill. Known for their elaborate Christmas-themed rock operas, TSO combines classical and rock elements to create a powerful sound. TSO is known for its spectacular live shows, which include extensive lighting displays, pyrotechnics and elaborate stage designs. Over the years, TSO has released multiple platinum-selling albums and has become a holiday tradition for many fans worldwide, combining musical virtuosity with theatrical storytelling. The performance will take place on Wednesday, December 11th at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention (BJCC) Legacy Arena.

“It’s a holiday feeling!”

Experience the magic of the holiday season with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO). Sadie Goodman from Birmingham will be the orchestra’s guest soloist. Also on stage are pianist Rich Ridenour and electric violinist Bethany Borg. The orchestra will perform classics such as “Carol of the Bells,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Merry Christmas, Darling.” Maybe even Santa Claus will show up. Treat yourself to hot chocolate and apple cider before the concert and enjoy an evening of classical music and holiday cheer at the BJCC Concert Hall on Friday, December 6th. Holiday Candlelight Tour

Self-guided tours of the Governor’s Mansion will be available during the holiday season on Monday, December 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Monday, December 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m offered. 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets at the Governor’s Mansion Gift Shop (30 Finley Ave.) and Sweet Home Alabama Gift Shop (401 Adams Ave.). Opening holiday of the AG Gaston Motel

The City of Birmingham and the National Park Service will host their first open house at the AG Gaston Motel on Saturday, December 7th. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the lobby and courtyard will be filled with storytellers, performers, vendors, entrepreneurs. Artists, food trucks, free tastings and educational tours. Entry is free. The motel is located at 1510 Fifth Ave. North.
