Alabama football is making a splash with the move of 4-star LSU commit Derek Meadows

Alabama football has been rumored in recent weeks to be the favorite to move on from 4-star LSU WR commit Derek Meadows after Michigan poached Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit in the country, from LSU.

On Wednesday evening, during a signing ceremony at his high school, Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, Meadows made the move official by signing with Alabama. There was little drama when Meadows showed up to the signing ceremony in Alabama gear.

Meadows is one of the most intriguing WR prospects in the country. At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Meadows has the potential to be a matchup nightmare at the next level. He’s a promising candidate, but WR coach JaMarcus Shepherd is one of the best WR coaches in the country and I’m sure he’s excited to get his hands on him.

Flipping Meadows is a huge recruiting win for Kalen DeBoer and company. Alabama lost 4-star Caleb Cunningham a few weeks ago when he transferred to Ole Miss after visiting Oxford. His flip left Alabama a little rattled, but they had kept in touch with Meadows and were eventually able to convince him to come to Tuscaloosa instead of Baton Rouge.

Meadows’ commitment to Alabama landed the Crimson Tide at No. 2 overall, according to On3. An impressive group of prospects heads to Tuscaloosa as DeBoer completes his first signing class in Alabama.
