Alabama Football is pushing for Auburn Tigers safety Anquon Fegans

When it comes to the Iron Bowl, the impact of the outcome extends far beyond the field, and one area you’ll certainly see is recruiting.

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers continually compete for many of the top prospects in the state every year, and 2024 is certainly no exception.

Even when looking at this year’s in-state class, there are numerous prospects who are among the best in the country at their respective positions, a group that includes a few commitments to Alabama and Auburn.

One of those names is also quickly becoming one to keep an eye on: Anquon Fegans, an Auburn commit that Alabama is reportedly pushing hard for near the early signing period according to On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong.

Fegans attends Thompson High School in Alabama and is the No. 58 overall prospect and No. 6 safety nationally in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. A four-star prospect, Fegans is also the No. 3 player in the state of Alabama.

Fegans, an Auburn commit, has also been committed to the Tigers since July 2024 and is currently Auburn’s fourth-highest commitment in their No. 5 2025 rankings.

With the early signing period starting Wednesday, could Alabama be looking at potentially trading one of the best safeties in the country?
