Let’s kick off Tuesday’s edition of “The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral” as Mason Woods joins us to talk about today’s unveiling of the College Football Playoff poll. It’s the final poll before Sunday’s selection, should they be in the field tonight despite Alabama’s 9-3 record?

Alabama appears to be in talks with Ole Miss, South Carolina, Clemson, Miami and SMU about who will be in the College Football Playoff. The program begins with the SEC and determines who has the best case for the postseason.

South Carolina is currently the darling of the media as they have won six games in a row. However, the Gamecocks lost head-to-head against both Ole Miss and Alabama. Is beating Clemson enough to put them on the field?

Ole Miss has the same record as Alabama, but the two programs did not air this season, making the discussion much more nuanced. Should the Rebels be there against Alabama because they have scored a lot of points outside of the conference?

The show moves on to the ACC where we discuss the trio of SMU, Clemson and Miami. The winner of SMU-Clemson is automatically in, but will Clemson be in if the Tigers lose the ACC title game? Should Miami be 10-2 just because it lost one game less to the Crimson Tide?
