Alabama football trolls Auburn’s Demarcus Riddick after Jalen Milroe TD

As it turned out, Auburn football’s Demarcus Riddick couldn’t cash the check he wrote during Iron Bowl week. After Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, who Riddick claimed couldn’t match his speed, rounded the Tiger linebacker en route to a touchdown.

After the game, the Crimson Tide added insult to injury. Alabama’s official social media account shared a video of Riddick’s press conference, intercut with Milroe’s touchdown run and celebration in the end zone.

The post didn’t last long. Alabama posted it at 8:13 p.m. CT after the game and deleted it just before 9:30 p.m

Milroe scored most of the goals for Alabama in Saturday’s 28-14 win in Tuscaloosa. On running plays, he reached the end zone three times and gained 104 yards on the ground and 256 yards through the air.

“Just really proud of the way he played tonight,” Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer said of Milroe after the game. “And, you know, continue to be resilient, continue to stay the course and help us win the football game.”

Riddick finished the game with two total tackles. He made headlines Monday when he took shots at Milroe, as well as UA wide receiver Ryan Williams, who said he wasn’t a “great player.”

“He’s fast, but he’s not faster than me,” Riddick said of Milroe. “He’s not going to get out of that box this week and I have to work on that all week.”

Alabama finished its regular season at 9-3 with the win. After the conference championship games next weekend, it will become clear what happens after the season and whether there will be a bid for the College Football Playoff.
