Alec Baldwin plans to ‘reveal what really happened’ while filming on Rust movie set | Filming on the Rust film set

Alec Baldwin has accused the media of wanting him to “die” and said he wanted to “expose what really happened” in connection with the case surrounding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021 on the set of the film Rust .

Shortly after the premiere of the finished film at the Camerimage festival in Poland, and five months after the involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin was dismissed due to prosecutors’ withholding of evidence, Baldwin spoke with fellow actor David Duchovny on his podcast “Fail Better.” .

When asked “What happens next?” from Duchovny, Baldwin said, “There’s more to come. (It) is now my effort… to uncover and uncover what really happened.

“The mainstream press and tabloids suppressed any story that could benefit me and amplified any story that could harm me. This has been the case for three years. And the truth about what happened was never told.”

He added: “For the last three years people have just eaten out. Because when people in this country hate you on this level, they want three things. They want you to die. Secondly, they want you to go to prison… These political masses… love to see their enemies in prison for years because prison is like hell on earth. And thirdly, they want you canceled, which is like being in prison or dead for wandering the earth and being… invisible.”

Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter after a prop gun he was holding on the film’s New Mexico set fired a live bullet, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Associate director David Halls claimed he pleaded no contest to negligent use of a deadly weapon, while film crew gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Souza agreed to finish Rust in 2023 with a replacement cinematographer, Bianca Cline, after an agreement was reached between the film’s producers and Hutchins’ family in which her young son will benefit financially from the film’s proceeds. Baldwin, who is considered one of the film’s producers, was not present at the premiere. Hutchins’ mother, Olga Solovey, who has filed a civil lawsuit against Baldwin, announced that she would also not attend the event, saying that Baldwin had (refused) to accept responsibility for (Hutchins’) death… ( and) attempt to unfairly benefit from his murder of my daughter.”

At a subsequent appearance at the Turin Film Festival, Baldwin denied having profited from the film’s release, saying: “The idea that anyone profited from the sales and distribution of the film is patently false.” He added: “I did waived my fee… I gave everything to ‘(Hutchins’) husband (Matthew Hutchins).’ He owns the film. I believe her husband is the sole owner of the film, although I could be wrong. Everything was done with that in mind.”

In his interview with Duchovny, Baldwin thanked his wife Hilaria for her support and said, “I owe my wife everything” and expressed confidence that his “cancellation” over the shooting will subside. “From the messages I’ve been receiving lately, I think things are getting better on my commute and I’m happy about that because I have seven children.”
