All blessings in Fortnite and how to get them

Blessings are among the latest additions to Fortnite that can help you gain the upper hand and secure Victory Royale. Here’s how to get them.

Fortnite Chapter 6 is finally here and there are already lots of exciting new things for players to learn and experiment with on the island. In addition to new Oni masks, you can also use Boons, which function similarly to reinforcements.

These give you special abilities depending on which ones you possess. Since victory requires much more than just finding decent weapons, you won’t want to miss this one.

It may take a while to find them, but don’t worry. We’ve put together everything you need to know about Boons, including how they work and where you can find them in the game.

All Fortnite boons and their effects

The Water Blessing is super useful if you don’t want to bring med kits.

Blessings are consumables you can collect that give you useful buffs. However, unlike most items, Boons do not take up your loadout slot. When you equip them, they are placed in a separate inventory slot, so you don’t have to worry about having to sacrifice your weapon or other items for them.

It is also possible to use multiple blessings if you have found them in your match. There are currently four types with different effects:

  • Water blessing: Restores shield and health to you and your nearby teammates while swimming.
  • Blessing of the Void: Shows the location of nearby players when someone is beaten or eliminated.
  • Fire blessing: Increases the reload speed of your weapon.
  • Blessing of the wind: Increases your movement speed when using your pickaxe.

How to get blessings in Chapter 6, Season 1

There are currently three ways to receive blessings. This takes some effort, but the impact is worth it.

Return a sprite to a sprite shrine

The Sprite Shrine drops a lot of loot, including a blessing if you return a sprite there.

Sprites and Sprite Shrines are part of the new additions in Chapter 6. When you interact with a Sprite Shrine, you can see the sprites running around you. If you pick them up and return to the Sprite Shrine, you will have the option to return them.

If you do this, after a while you will receive some loot and a blessing. If you want to get more blessings using this technique, you will need to find a separate sprite shrine, as you can only return a sprite once in each of them.

Defeat bosses

One way to get a blessing is to defeat these tough demon warriors on the map.

If you’re dying to grab some of the mythical weapons in medallions from bosses, you’re in luck because you can also get blessings from them. An example is the demon warriors who randomly appear on the island.

You can easily find them by following the Kabuto hat-like icon on the map, but be prepared because they have a lot of health and hit like a truck.

Looting elemental chests

Elemental chests stand out from afar and usually contain rarer items.

Finally, the easiest way to get blessings is to find them in elemental chests. These chests have a distinctive shine, making them easy to spot from a mile away. The only downside to this method is that you’re not always guaranteed to find blessings in it, so relying solely on opening chests can take a while.

And that’s everything you need to know about Boons in Chapter 6. Combined with the new weapons and movement mechanics, the possibilities for huge moves are almost endless.

While you’re here, be sure to familiarize yourself with all the new map changes, weekly challenges and quests, and how to get the Godzilla Evolved skin.
