All Oni Masks and How to Get Them in Fortnite

Fortnite’s brand new Oni Masks in Chapter 6 let you wield some cool powers in the battle royale. Here’s how to get them.

After the epic live event “The Finale” that concluded the previous chapter, players are in for a fresh start thanks to the introduction of Chapter 6. As with any other chapter, many new additions have been added to the Battle Royale, one of which is the Oni Masks.

Equipped with this will give you various effects that will allow you to pressure your enemies or make a quick escape, making it worth picking up for your gear.

However, they can be difficult to find, especially if you’re not sure where to look. So if you want to get your hands on these, here’s how to get and use Oni Masks.

All Oni Masks in Fortnite and How to Use Them

There are two types of Oni Masks available in Chapter 6: Fire and Void. The fire projectiles essentially allow you to fire projectiles that deal damage to your enemies when hit, while the void projectiles are used to teleport.

To use Oni Masks, you must equip them and use your primary fire button to trigger their ability. Alternatively, if you use another weapon to shoot your enemies, you can switch to the Oni Masks in your loadout to help take them down.

These basically replace any weapon you have in your current loadout slot, as they function like any other item.

Using the Fire Oni Mask allows you to hurl explosive scream masks that deal 100 damage on hit. Since this can also damage multiple enemies, you can use it to nudge them from a distance or pressure them to move away from their location. It’s also great for getting rid of annoying builds that get in your way.

The Void Oni Mask is a solid mobility item in Chapter 6.

On the other hand, the Void Oni Mask creates a “Void Rift” that you can teleport to when used. The way this works is that when you press your primary fire button, you can see the other part of the void appear in the original direction you fired. This is the exact location you will teleport to afterwards, making it ideal for escaping from difficult situations.

How to get Oni Masks

Oni Masks appear in regular and elemental chests, but the Mythic variant can only be obtained by defeating bosses.

Elemental chests stand out from afar and usually contain rarer items.

There are currently four of them in the game.

• Fire Oni Mask (Epic)
• Empty Oni Mask (Epic)
• Shogun X Fire Oni Mask (Mythic)
• Void Nightrose Oni Mask (Mythic)

While Mythic copies have the same effect as their Epic counterparts, they only differ in that they have a higher number of uses overall.

Getting them won’t exactly be a walk in the park, however, as you’ll need to defeat either the Shogun or Night Rose bosses first. With that in mind, make sure you have gotten yourself some of the best weapons first to be on the safe side.
