Andrew Garfield reveals ‘passionate’ sex scene with co-star ‘went further than intended’ – Celebrity

Andrew Garfield and co-star Florence Pugh got a little carried away as they filmed a “passionate” sex scene together.

The two actors play lovers in the romantic comedy. We live in timewho follows a relationship over a decade.

During a conversation with Josh Horowitz on his “Happy Sad Confused” podcast in October, the 41-year-old said Spider-Man The actor said when he filmed the saucy moment with 28-year-old Pugh, they didn’t hear “cut” and instead carried on.

Mimicking his own behavior leading up to the intimate scenes, the actor recalled: “What’s that like? Can I kiss you now? You don’t have to, even if we pretend we’re married.”

The podcast appearance was filmed in front of an audience and everyone laughed at the story. Pugh laughed off any awkwardness between them during filming.

“She would just laugh at me because she’s very confident in her body, her sexuality and her being,” Garfield said of it Don’t worry, darling Star.

“Florence is Florence.”

When it came time to shoot the first take of the “very intimate, passionate sex scene,” the actors got a little carried away. Or to put it another way: They are simply great at their job.

It was filmed on a closed set, with only the two main actors, a cameraman and a boom operator.

“The scene becomes passionate – the way we choreographed it – and we kind of get into it.

“And we go a little further than we should just because we don’t hear ‘Cut’ and it feels safe and we say, ‘Okay, let’s move on to the next thing and the next thing and us.’ I’ll let it continue.’”

But the critically acclaimed acting duo kept going for so long that they finally looked up from each other and realized the camera was no longer on them.

Garfield said he and Pugh “both kind of telepathically said to each other, ‘This definitely feels like a long take.'”

“I look up and in the corner is (the cameraman) and our boom operator. (He) has the camera at his side and has turned into the wall.”

If you want to watch the scene (and hopefully the whole movie). We live in time will be released in the UK on January 1, 2025. It has excellent reviews, with a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after critics praised the performances of both leads.
