Angel City Football Club looking for Konstanz looking for the meeting with Seattle Reign

The Angel City Football Club saw some positive aspects in the first two NWSL games of the season.

First, both games came to an end, and one point is always better than no points. This applies in particular, since Angel City had problems towards leads and potential pulling towards the end of last season.

“With two ties, it’s a big deal not to lose what we can take,” said striker Claire Emslie. “We want to make profits and that’s what we want to do this weekend.”

The challenge of this week is a major role in Seattle Reign.

In the first 11 meetings, Angel City lost eight and was exceeded at 20 to 10.

“I think you are the most organized and tactically sounding team in the league,” said Emslie. “I think every time we have played Seattle, half will look like one thing and (coach) Laura Harvey is so good at changing the tactics, doing things so difficult for us. So, I think it is always just trying to be aware of and reading patterns and reading runners, and then not just that you will change it, and you have to be ready for everything against Sattle.”

Seattle (1-0-1, four points) opened the season with a 1-1 draw against Gotham FC and defeated North Carolina 2-1 last week.

“I know a lot of players in Seattle,” said ACFC -Interim coach Sam Laity. “It was probably the greatest turnover they had long had for the club in relation to the recruitment of players and new players who come in. They have many younger players in the squad, so many players who have pace and a high potential.

“It was interesting to see how they integrated into this squad. I will say it is a very populated and fairly mature team. Laura (Harvey) was there for a few years and they have a nice structure and a good rhythm on and outside the field.”

According to the layperson, the goal for Angel City is a measure of consistency.

“Recognize moments and possibilities a little earlier. I think they saw some really good moments against San Diego (at the start of the season),” said Laacht. “I thought we had a controlled start against Portland, then we lost a little control. The goal for this game is to record the game early and to have it for a long time. This closes without the ball.

“I want things to do things at a more consistent level for a longer period of time.”
