According to the Athens County District Attorney’s Office, the Ohio Fourth District Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction of Justin Pennington, 38, of Guysville.

Since the appeal was rejected, Pennington continues to serve the life sentence he was given last year. He is currently incarcerated at the Noble Correctional Facility.

TRENDING STORIES:

Pennington was convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and burglary in connection with the 2021 killing of a man and the assault of a woman.

In June 2021, Justin Pennington went to a man’s home, “brutally attacked” him and left him for dead.

He then went to Sharpe’s daughter’s house and told her he had “just beat the crap out of” her father and that she should check on him, prosecutors said on social media.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, Sharpe was unresponsive and had blood in his nose, ears and mouth. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

Less than an hour after he beat Sharpe to death, Pennington attacked a woman with an aluminum baseball bat.
