Apple TV+ just released the first 8 minutes of the second season of Severance

Apple TV+ just gave its subscribers such an amazing holiday gift that I think a Christmas card for the streaming service is probably in order. If you are a fan of one of the best series of all time – the dystopian workplace drama Severance pay – This one is for you.

Once Apple finally releases the series’ highly anticipated second season next month, it will have been almost three years since the series’ debut – and it is indeed an understatement to say that expectations for this excellent sci-fi drama are sky-high are. Meanwhile, that gift I was alluding to? Here’s the thing: Fans of the series starring Adam Scott and Britt Lower don’t have to wait for the second season’s January 17 release date to dive in. The first eight minutes of the new season can already be viewed in the Apple TV+ app, the streamer announced late on Monday evening.

When you open the app, you should see an image that gives a taste of it Severance pay‘s new season in the top carousel. If not, just navigate to Severance pay View the icon and then scroll down until you see “Bonus Content.”

In the series, Scott plays Mark Scout – the leader of a team of Lumon employees who have undergone a “severance process” in which memories of their work and personal lives have been surgically separated. It’s a daring and dangerous experiment in work-life balance that’s called into question when Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery, and in Season 2 the stakes get even higher. Apple has mysteriously teased that Mark and his friends will experience the consequences if they treat the separation barrier that separates them carelessly.

The show still holds a near-perfect score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite an achievement considering it hit theaters back in February 2022. “Bold, mysterious and with new insights into the dangers of corporate drudgery,” say the site’s critics. Consensus review raves: “Severance pay is the complete package.”
