Arctic air has arrived, here’s how long it will stay there

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) – Arctic air has moved into the Miami Valley, bringing us below-normal temperatures for an extended period of time.

During the day, Friday afternoon temperatures will rise to around freezing point and the sky will be mostly cloudy. Factoring in the wind, there will be chilly temperatures of up to 20 degrees during the day, so bundle up! Some storms are also expected.

It will remain very cold this weekend, with temperatures only rising to near freezing after starting in the teens on Saturday and Sunday morning. A fast clipper system will bring some clouds and severe weather to the area Saturday night into early Sunday. We will monitor this closely.

We will reach the upper 30s by next Wednesday with a potential system bringing the chance of precipitation in the area. Another shot of intensifying cold air should bring temperatures back down late next week!

Black Friday: Mostly cloudy and cold. Possible highs in the mid 30s.

Small Business Saturday: Cold and mostly sunny with high temperatures near freezing. Clouds gather overnight.

Sunday: Temperatures around freezing or below, high temperatures with a mix of sun and clouds.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Temperatures rise to near freezing point

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
