Three days after the women’s basketball season ended in Iowa, the Hawkeyes portal activity was heated.

Jada Williams, a 5-foot 8 watch that played the last two seasons in Arizona, arrived in Iowa City on Thursday evening and was a source on Friday on campus with direct knowledge of her attitude, which was confirmed to the register.

According to ESPN’s ranking, Williams was number 21 in the country in the 2023 class.

After the defeat of Iowa against Oklahoma against Oklahoma at the NCAA tournament on Monday, head coach Jan Jensen spoke about the need for the team to get into the NCAA transfer portal to help on his 2025-26 list.

“I’m really happy about the future,” said Jensen. “I love our newcomers. I love the income, and if we can only get a few portal pieces, I think it would really be fun.”

Williams would be an enormous addition to the Hawkeyes. In the last two seasons she started 58 out of 63 games for Arizona and scored an average of 11.0 points and 2.6 templates. She was an All-Pac-12-Freshman team election in 2024. Last season, she achieved an average of 12.7 points and 2.9 assists per game, while in the Big 12 conference with 86.2% (75 of 87) she took second place in Big 12 conference.

Williams is small, but quickly. Iowa graduates of the Point Guard Lucy Olsen, an all-Big ten selection of the first team, and an unsafe back court into the 2025-26 season.

Addie Deal, the best rated recruit of the program (No. 18) since Caitlin Clark, arrives in June from the Mater Dei High School in Southern California, but can play one of Iowa’s guard positions. The Hawkeyes also expect the newcomer to be attributed to Aaliyah Guyton, who was recently informed the register that it was still not 100% after returning from a torn ACL. The starter Taylor McCabe (on 2) and Kylie Feuerbach (at 3) also return together with Taylor Stremlow, the upper backup.

A point Guard with the ball handling with speed would be a portal requirement for the Hawkeyes. Someone like this can create space on the floor for others and also give time to grow into their role.

Williams originally comes from the suburbs of Kansas City and is a social media star (she currently has 617,000 Instagram followers), but moved to California and played for the La Jolla Country Day School, where she was a 2023 McDonald’s all-American. Williams originally undertaken the UCLA, but the five-star view drove to Arizona, which went 37-30 in her two seasons.

There is certainly no guarantee that Williams ends in Iowa, but it shows that the Hawkeyes want to be serious portal players in the next or two.
