Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan is a Biletnikoff Award finalist

Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan has been named one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given to college football’s top pass catcher in 2024.

The Biletnikoff finalists were whittled down to 11 semifinalists on Tuesday before McMillan’s likely final game against the Wildcats, a home rival against Arizona State.

Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and San Jose State’s Nick Nash were the other two finalists.

McMillan became the Wildcats’ career receiving leader last week and has 78 catches for 1,251 yards (third in the nation) and seven scores this year.

Nash is second nationally with 1,291 receiving yards and first with 14 touchdowns. Hunter is third with 11 touchdowns and has 1,036 yards to go.

The Biletnikoff Award is given to the nation’s best pass catcher at each position.

The list of finalists ended with Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr., who leads the country with 1,295 receiving yards.

ASU’s Cam Skattebo is not among three finalists for the Doak Walker Award

The Doak Walker committee named Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty (2,062 yards), Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson (1,492 yards) and North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton (1,475 yards) as its finalists for the 2024 award, given to the best back in the country becomes.

That trio sequentially leads the nation in total rushing yards with one game left in the regular season.

Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo remains on the outside looking in after making it to the semifinal round for the Doak Walker Honor.

Skattebo, who has missed one game this season, ranks 10th in the nation with 1,221 rushing yards heading into the Territorial Cup game at Arizona.

He is fourth nationally with 1,681 all-purpose yards and second in total yards per game (168.2).

He has averaged 5.4 yards per carry and scored 14 touchdowns this year, which is fewer than Jeanty’s 7.5 yards per carry, which is among the best in the country.

Big 12 running backs UCF’s RJ Harvey (1,475 yards), Texas Tech’s Tahj Brooks (1,317 yards) and Kansas State’s DJ Giddens (1,271 yards) were also in the top 10 in total rushing yards .
