ATP Adelaide quarterfinal predictions including Paul vs. Hijikata

Preparations for the 2025 Australian Open have truly begun. The ATP Adelaide Open, part of the 250 event series, features a fantastic mix of players who have made it to the last eight. As always, we at LWOT are previewing and predicting all four quarterfinal matches for you, including No. 1 seed Tommy Paul vs. Rinky Hijikata. But who will advance?

ATP Adelaide quarterfinal predictions

Benjamin Bonzi vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Head-to-head: First meeting

Benjamin Bonzi got through the qualifications well and showed good tennis to reach the last eight. He faces Miomir Kecmanovic, who has also had a pretty good week already, beating the sixth seed in his first round. These two are facing each other for the first time, and it should come down to how well Bonzi can counter Kecmanovic’s consistency from the baseline. Based on what we’ve seen so far, things are looking good for the Serb to move forward.

Prediction: Kecmanovic in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Marcos Giron

Head-to-head race: Auger-Aliassime 4:1 Giron

After a not so good 2024 season, Felix Auger-Aliassime will look to correct course in 2025. The Canadian enjoys playing on the hard courts and will be happy with his start. He goes up against Marcos Giron, who is fairly consistent but doesn’t seem to have the firepower to trouble Auger-Aliassime from the baseline. Expect Felix to head into the semi-finals here full of confidence.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Thanasi Kokkinakis vs. Sebastian Korda

Head-to-head: Kokkinakis 0-3 Korda

Thanasi Kokkinakis overcame a tough challenge late last night to reach the last eight, raising questions about how much of a break the Australian will manage. His quarter-final opponent, however, will be well rested after making short work of his opponent, beating Kokkinakis in all three previous meetings. Expect Sebastian Korda to dominate an exhausted Kokkinakis.

Prediction: Korda in 2

Tommy Paul vs. Rinky Hijikata

Head-to-head: First meeting

Rinky Hijikata has had some fantastic wins with the support of the home crowd, but the 23-year-old now faces his toughest test when he takes on Tommy Paul, who is the top seed here. Although it took the American three sets to take the win, he is a quality player who plays extremely well on the hard courts. Expect Hijikata to get off to a quick start, but by the end Paul should be able to outmaneuver his opponent.

Prediction: Paul in 3
