Atul Subhash suicide case: Atul Subhash’s estranged wife Nikita Singhania, who was arrested and remanded on charges of abetment of suicide, used only WhatsApp calls to evade police surveillance radar and also changed her location every day to avoid arrest, police sources said on Monday with.

Nikita was arrested by the Bengaluru Police from Haryana’s Gurugram. Her mother Nisha and brother Anurag were kidnapped from Prayagraj.

While Nikita was trying to evade arrest, she was trying to get bail in the suicide case of her husband, who killed himself at his Bengaluru residence last week, alleging harassment by his wife and her family . He also left behind a 24-page suicide note and an hour-long video in which he explained each sequence in detail.

How was Nikita Singhania caught?

According to the police sources, the accused had locked their houses in Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh after receiving news of the arrival of the Karnataka Police to nab them. The police then pasted signs on the walls of the houses asking them to appear within three days.

The special team compiled a list of all close relatives and friends suspected of being in contact with them. They were under constant surveillance as the accused only made WhatsApp calls, making it difficult for police to trace them, sources said.

However, Nikita made a mistake: she called one of her close relatives. As soon as the call was made, the police were alerted and rushed to Gurugram due to the location of the tower. Police discovered that Nikita was hiding in a PG hostel in Rail Vihar area. She was immediately arrested.

The police interrogated Nikita and forced her to call her mother and brother. Police traced her whereabouts and arrested her from Jhunsi town in Uttar Pradesh.
