Bad Bunny releases new single and video for “El Clúb”.

Bad Bunny released his second solo single of the year on Thursday night, marking the introduction of a new mix of sounds for the hitmaker. The song, titled “El Clúb,” was released alongside a trippy and colorful video by Stillz.

Bunny is seen at the beginning of the picture wearing an elaborate fur coat as he enters an elevator that sends him to “El Clúb,” where he joins a bevy of beautiful women. As he returns home, a montage of AI-generated images and other “memories” flashes across the screen as Bunny sings, “What could my ex do?” /
Haven’t seen her in a while / Could it be that she’s over me and she’s okay? While I’m here drunk, I wonder.”

The song itself combines synthesizer beats with guitars and plena, a style of Puerto Rican music rooted in Afro-Indigenous traditions. Bunny sings about longing for simpler times and is seen recalling old memories of him at the club. The song is produced by his long-time collaborators MAG and La Paciencia as well as Saox (Iggy Azalea, Rauw Alejandro).

Bunny hasn’t released much music this year, aside from two collaborations with Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro and his own “Una Velita” (“One Candle”), which served as a political message to the island of Puerto Rico on the anniversary of Hurricane Maria.

Recently, Bunny was nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Música Urbana Album” category for his 2023 album “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana” (“Nobody Knows What Will Happen Tomorrow”). He also won a Latin Grammy for Best Reggaeton Performance for “Perro Negro.”
