Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize that the Disguise spell is underrated

Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most replayable games of all time. Not only is it impossible to see all of the content while playing through, but the game changes completely depending on your orientation and decisions. Then of course there’s playing through Dark Urge and playing as the original character. Fans are always discovering new things and looking for more reasons to return to the game.

I’m making my next Baldur’s Gate 3 appearance as Santa Claus

To get into the holiday spirit, I made jolly old Santa Claus. It was a lot harder than I thought…

If you’ve somehow managed to play through every known path and seen almost everything the game has to offer, you may be looking for another reason to return to Baldur’s Gate 3. It seems that there is a unique way to play the game that will allow you to experience content that you would not otherwise have access to. It comes in the form of the Disguise Yourself spell.

A master of disguise

Disguise Self, as the name suggests, allows you to disguise yourself as another character or race of your choice. This is especially helpful if you want to stay inconspicuous while walking through the busy city. However, it seems that if you master the spell and use it at the right moment, it can completely change the way you play.

Baldur's Gate 3 Dress Up Self Party

As seen in scuzzlebuttstudios’ Reddit post in the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, Disguise self is highly underrated. “You can have so many racially specific interactions with one character. “In the first act, I was able to experience Goblin Camp and Grymforge as Drow and Creche as Githyanki,” they said.

“It’s such an amazing flavor spell, and coupled with my Bard, I can also perform and pass trials perfectly, giving me so much more story and content than I’ve ever experienced in one character,” the post continued. “Oh, and halfling disguise to fit into caves.”

Someone in the comments section also pointed out that the spell allows you to also talk to the corpse of a person you just killed.

“This is not only a lot of fun, but also allows for a quick level of security in the early game. You gain some experience exploring the map, and (the) drow look really helps when talking to goblins: camp, windmill, etc. (but not entering Waukeens). “Rest as Drow and Mykonid Colony as Duergar,” reads another comment. “Plus, Disguise Self helps steal gold from merchants and really helps get Moonlanterns in Act 2.”

So if you’re looking for another way to replay Baldur’s Gate 3 this holiday season, why not try the Disguise Run?
