Bengal forecast to ward off contract talks, to act 21 million US dollars superstar

The Cincinnati Bengals have several contractual issues to work out this low season.

Tea Higgins, BJ Hill, Mike Hilton, Cody Ford and Vonn Bell are all on their way to the free agency, while the broad recipient Ja’marr Chase and the Edge-Rusher Trey Hendrickson need extensions.

The Bengals in the Cap Space project near the league via the CAP projects, so that some of these players can probably be brought back. However, the Bengals could not achieve the playoffs in 2024, and external additions must also be made.

Aaron Schatz von ESPN recently predicted a big step that every team could take this off -season. For the Bengals, Schatz predicts that the team will actually act Hendrickson instead of signing the star on an extension.

In terms of a possible trade from Hendrickson, Schatz offered the following:

Hendrickson is one of the best Edge -Rushers in the NFL. He led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024 and was second in the league in the Pass -Rush profit rate under Edge Rushers. But he will be 31 years old next season and a player does not make a defense. Despite Hendrickson’s great season, the Bengals took 27th place in the defensive DVOA.

The Bengals not only have to build this defense with a great Edge rusher, and they need a fresh start with the new defensive coordinator Al Golden. You only have six tips in the upcoming design and could use more. Sources Jeremy Fowler from ESPN said that Cincinnati would go to business with Hendrickson and recipients Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Bengals should give another team Hendrickson this expansion and build up their capital by sending it to another place.

As Schatz emphasized, Hendrickson was elite in 2024, but the rest of the Bengals defense. Hendrickson collected 17.5 sacks, 46 duels, 19 duels against losses and 35 quarterback hits.

Despite Hendrickson’s incredible effort, the Bengals took the 25th place in the opponents per game and in the yards of the opponents per game. Cincinnati released the defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo after the disappointing performance and brought Al Golden to take over the job in 2025.

Golden could prefer to exchange Hendrickson for picks and rebuild the defense as he wants. As Schatz emphasized, the Bengals only have six draft picks this year and could use more with a squad full of holes.

In addition, trading with the veteran would release plenty of space for highgins and chas. However, Hendrickson would be an enormous loss for the Bengals, since no other Bengal defender collected more than five sacks in 2024.
