Blinding Snow Squalls, Thundersnow in Buffalo, New York

The drivers in Buffalo, New York, confronted conditions on the streets on Monday evening, whipping through the area as snow storms. The intensive snow outbreak in combination with strong winds that howled, as snow plows tried to keep the streets clear. An Arctic cold front responsible for the gusts also produced Thundersnow, which illuminated the sky with flashes.

Wind gusts over 60 miles per hour were recorded at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. A Buffalo resident shared his drive on social media and even got out to show how big the snow shifts became.

The National Weather Service said that the threat from snow storms in the northeast would be going to swept through the northeast, the large lakes and the northern center of the Atlantic. Snowstorms are particularly dangerous for drivers because they can suddenly and apparently out of nowhere while they are on the go. The rapidly changing conditions can reduce the view to almost zero, so that the NWS advises the drivers to overcome and wait.

Western New York could land with higher total total in areas around Eriesee and Lake Ontario thanks to the Sees-Effect snow until Wednesday evening with 3 to 5 inch snow.
