BOL Live Show: Instant analysis of Alabama’s win over Auburn

For the fifth consecutive year, the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Auburn Tigers. Bama now has 51 wins in Iron Bowl history, with Saturday marking the 89th edition of the rivalry. They have now won their last seven home games against Auburn by at least 11 points.

In Saturday’s 28-14 game, Alabama controlled the game for the most part, despite a few turnovers that could have been costly. Bama turned the ball over four times, but it only gave Auburn six points.

The turnovers can’t be ignored, but the Tide were able to be effective on offense in key spots. They had an extraordinary 9-play, 75-yard touchdown drive early in the second half and a 13-play drive that took up 7 minutes, 45 seconds of game time in the fourth quarter.

The defense also held its own, holding Auburn to just 4 of 12 touchdown conversions and making crucial stops after taking the field after turnovers. They also recorded two interceptions in the fourth quarter to end the game.
