Bond denied to suspect charged in murder of Pasadena teen – Baltimore Sun

Bond was denied for the third suspect charged in the murder of a Pasadena teenager.

Alexis Cancel-Soto, 20, of Baltimore appeared via video in Baltimore City District Court.

A judge ordered Cancel-Soto held without bail, telling the defendant that he posed “an extreme danger to the community and a flight risk.”

Cancel-Soto is one of three men charged with the murder of 19-year-old Cameran Holt and the attempted murder of a 28-year-old man who investigators believe was the target of the Federal Hill shooting on October 27.

Surveillance video captured at least two dozen shots fired on West Hamburg Street in what Baltimore police are calling a shootout.

Investigators believe a parking lot argument between another suspect charged in the case, Devontaye Richardson, 28, and the 28-year-old victim led to the shooting, according to court documents, and that Richardson, Cancel-Soto and a Der Third suspect – Daeshaun Clark, 27 – all fired their weapons at the male victim’s car.

Baltimore police said Cameran Holt was not involved in the altercation; She was in her own car, which had stopped on Hamburger Weststrasse, and came into the line of fire.

The Pasadena teen died 11 days later, on Nov. 7.

“I am lost. I am so lost without her,” said Roxanne Spath, mentioning that the upcoming holidays will be particularly difficult.

Spath is pushing for justice and for more to be done to address the violence, including accountability.

Court records show all three suspects are criminals.

According to online court records, Cancel-Soto and Clark were also on probation at the time of the shooting for crimes in Anne Arundel County last year.

Records show Cancel-Soto was previously charged in October 2023 with unlawful vehicle taking, theft and two misdemeanors.

Months later, he was found guilty of one of the misdemeanor charges.

Records show a judge suspended Cancel-Soto’s entire three-year sentence and sentenced him to 18 months of probation.

Eight months later, he is now accused of being involved in a shooting that killed an unintended target.

Records show Clark was currently serving a 14-month probation sentence for a 2023 resisting arrest charge in Anne Arundel County.

All three men are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 26 and remain in custody.

“I hope justice is served for Cameran, and my strong voice gives other victims and their families the encouragement to be strong and speak out,” Spath said.
