Buick collection owner’s barn find has encyclopedic knowledge

While this treasure trove of vintage Buick models is an automotive goldmine, its owner’s in-depth knowledge of each and every car in his collection makes it an even more special barn find

The collection was discovered in Schenectady, New York, in the USA.

The highlights include vintage Buick cars.

However, there are other carefully curated gems too – from Pontiacs to Plymouths to a Triumph Spitfire.

The vintage Buick barn find

The collection, hidden in upstate New York, was discovered by Parker of Backyard Barn Finds on YouTube.

At first glance, this is a remarkable collection of rare classic cars.

While the star of the show is a series of vintage Buicks, they are complemented by other gems in the collection.

From a 1969 Pontiac GTO to a Triumph Spitfire to a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner.

The icing on the cake, however, has to be owner Scott’s extensive knowledge of each car and its past.

Meanwhile, this man got very lucky when he found an iconic Buick LeSabre in a barn with barely any miles on it.

Also, a man surprised his father by replacing the original engine in his 1966 Buick Skylark with a special new one

Models to write home about

Scott begins by showcasing a rare 1972 Buick GS, painted in the GSX color scheme after a restoration decades earlier.

The car has a 455 engine, GSX spoiler and painted headlight covers.

The fire-red GS 350 Cabriolet was one of only 601 automatic models that ever rolled off the assembly line.

It features one-year available triangular Ram Air ducts, a detail introduced for California emissions standards, as well as a bench seat interior and rare NOS side panels used in the restoration.

However, the centerpiece of the collection has to be a Gulf Stream Blue 1i971 Buick GS Stage 1 Convertible.

This hue was added to only 44 examples, and the white bucket seat interior only received two examples.

It has been untouched since 1980 and boasts 500 pound-feet of torque and over 400 horsepower.

Also notable were a Levi’s Edition AMC Gremlin, a 1969 Pontiac GTO (Judge Tribute) and a Triumph Spitfire and a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado.

To update this story, Buick claims that it will only make electric vehicles from now on.
