Can losing weight be easier?

74% of Americans ages 20 and older are either obese or overweight. Unfortunately, diabetes is the natural consequence of these diseases, a diagnosis you want to avoid as if your life depended on it, because it does. The old adage of eating less and exercising more holds true, no matter how difficult it is.

A recent article in the magazine Diabetes, obesity and metabolism Offer hope on how to make weight loss easier. The study divided diabetics and prediabetics into two groups. Group 1 was placed on a high-protein diet Attachment-based diet, while group 2 consumed a high-protein diet animal-based diet. Total calories were moderately restricted, with only 35% of calories coming from carbohydrates (all the good things we love to eat).

The results are notable in that both groups lost a significant amount of fat while maintaining muscle mass. In addition, there were improvements in blood pressure, triglycerides, cholesterol and inflammatory markers that cause blood vessel damage from diabetes.

In conclusion, a diet rich in protein (also known as a keto diet), whether of plant or animal origin, has been very beneficial and can lead to lifestyle changes in the fight against diabetes. The high-protein diet can satisfy appetite and is easy to follow. Patients with diabetes and kidney failure must consult their doctor before starting this diet.
