Can players use night vision in Stalker 2?

Stalkers Games give players the ability to see clearly in the dark or surprise enemies using night vision. Players have found ways to purchase gear that offers this functionality in the latest entry.

However, after spending many hours searching for a way to enable night vision, players were unsuccessful in their search. It’s one of the series’ most iconic features, which raises the question of whether players will be able to use Night Vision Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl at all.

Can players use night vision in Stalker 2?

The short answer is: no. Unfortunately, there is currently no equipment or tool that allows players to use night vision goggles Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The feature has not been added to the latest entry in the Stalker series of games, despite it being a fan-favorite feature.

While it’s quite a shame, developer GSC Game World has confirmed on Discord that the addition of the night vision feature may be in its plans for a major update Stalkers 2 across the board.

Alternatives to night vision in Stalker 2

Although there is no way to get night vision goggles or enable night vision in general in Stalker 2, there are ways for players to get around this. There are some alternatives in the game and a mod that can somewhat compensate for the lack of night vision function in the game.

Even if they aren’t a real solution, they can at least keep you busy until an official update comes out that adds the feature to the game.

Use the flashlight

The flashlight is not a replacement for the special night vision mode Stalkers 2. However, it is easy to use, bright enough to illuminate a dark area, and does not require batteries or other resources to power it.

Players can use the flashlight indefinitely and it doesn’t reveal their position to enemies, which is a huge advantage.

Adjust brightness in game

The default brightness settings for Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl Make the game look darker than it should be. As you explore the world, search for items and face enemies, you must have a perfect view of your surroundings. Otherwise, you never know what might emerge from the dark and send you to the game screen.

Adjusting the brightness settings in the game can brighten the image significantly, allowing you to see clearly even in the darkest environments the game has to offer.

Use a night vision effect mod

There is no mod yet that can add a proper night vision mode or tool to the game. But modders have cleverly created in-game effects overlays that can simulate how Night Vision works, allowing players to experience the game as if they were using real Night Vision.

These mods are more about aesthetics than functionality, but they’re still fun to try out.
