Carlos Alcaraz will evaluate his chances of winning a third title in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, but the top seeds must be the best side at the ATP 500 event early.

If the number 3 in the PIF ATP ranking in his opener can move over a qualification game, he will wait for the winner of the climbing between ACAPULCO champion Tomas Machac and Frances Tiafoe. Alcaraz was able to meet the top 10 star colleagues Alex de Minaur at the quarter-finals.

The four-time finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas begins his campaign for a Maiden Barcelona trophy against the Big-Singing Reilly Opelka, whereby her Lexus ATP Head2head series is 1-1.

Everything adds up

On the other hand, defending champion Casper Ruud returns to the place of his first ATP 500 title 12 months ago. The second seed, which will try to return from his defeat in the second round against Alexei popyrin at Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, takes on a qualification game in his opening game. Ruud will compete with the two-time ATP tour winner Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard if he can also prevail against a qualifier.

The triple main winner Stan Wawrinka and the former world No. 10 Pablo Carreno Busta, who compete as game cards, end up in Ruuds. Wawrinka competes against the Monte Carlo semi-finalist Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, while Carreno Busta faces the seventh seed Arthur Fils.
