Carolina Panthers 2025 NFL Offseason Preview: Focus can build up Bryce Young

2024 season: 5-12, third in NFC South, missed playoffs

Overview: The Carolina Panthers had an interesting season.

It started with 2023 No. 1 overall design, Pick Bryce Young played badly and became on the bench. It seemed as if it were like Young’s time with the Panthers. It was talk for Carolina might act. Then Young got another shot and played much better in the track. It is difficult to say that he has established himself as a future star, but at least the panthers go into this low season and know who will be their quarterback next season.

This allows the panthers to concentrate on other areas of the squad. After a 5-12 season there are still many holes.

LB Shaq Thompson
OG Austin Corbett
S Xavier Woods
Ol Brady Christensen
QB Andy Dalton

Who is in/out: The Panthers have to find out who comes back to safety because they have several free agents in the position. The offensive line is also a problem with the versatile Christians and the often injured corper for new contracts. It seems that Carolina likes to bring at least one back or start looking for other ways to build the line in front of Bryce Young. Dalton is an interesting case as a rocky backup, which seems to be pleasant to look after Young.

Edge Rusher
Line backer
Wide receiver

Why the holes? Carolina’s defense needs an infusion of talents. It starts with Edge Rusher, who became a problem area after trading with Brian Burns. It would also be good to add the line backer against Josey Jewell and Shaq Thompson, who is a free agent, depth. The Panthers had promising rookie season from Xavier and Jalen Coker, but another pee help would certainly not hurt.

The Panthers are in a decent salary limit, although not as good as you would expect for a team with a rookie quarters back and not many experienced stars. According to Spotrac, Carolina has 19 million US dollars of projected CAP Space. This is enough to give the Panther’s options.

RB Miles Sanders
Dt shy tuttle
WR Adam Thielen

Why they could be gone: After two disappointing seasons, Sanders is an obvious cut. Tuttle didn’t do much either, and cutting would delete about 3.3 million US dollars in Cap Space. It is unlikely that Thielen will be cut after a strong end of last season, but he will be 35 in the next season and maybe the Panthers want to have a youth movement at Receiver.

1. Round: No. 8
2. Round: No. 57 (from Rams)
3. Round: No. 74
4. Round
4. Round (from cowboys)
5th round (from giant)
5. Round
5. Round (from Ravens)
7. Round (from 49)

Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Why he? The panthers can go in almost any direction with the eighth overall design election and it would be justified. You need help with almost every position. A versatile security like Starks would help the process of building a defense from scratch.

Find a No. 1 -Wideout somewhere in this low season

The Panthers have a nice group around Bryce Young that bloomed down the route. Adam Thielen can still play as a big slot, Xavier laid out flashed despite some mistakes and Udfa Jalen Coker was an apparent find. But none of these boys profil themselves as a real candidate No. 1 or Downfield X-Reciver. This type of player does not grow on trees, but expects an addition along the X Receiver archetype in this low season. That alone will help young to achieve a covers as a passer -by. –Matt harmon
