Cathay Pacific’s passengers carried increase 30% in 2024 compared to last year

The airline carried more than 2.2 million passengers in December 2024.

Cathay Pacific and HK Express carried a total of more than 28 million passengers throughout 2024, up 30.7% year-on-year.

The airline carried a total of 2.24 million passengers in December 2024, an increase of 26.4% year-on-year. The month’s passenger kilometers (RPKs) sold also increased by 27.9% year-on-year.

Passenger load factor increased 3.6 percentage points to 84.8%, while available seat kilometers (ASKs) increased 22.5% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, Cathay Cargo transported a total of 1.5 million tons of cargo in 2024, up 11% from 2023.

In December 2024, the airline carried 143,564 tons of cargo, an increase of 11.7%. Freight revenue in tonne-kilometers increased 6.5% month-on-month compared to the previous year. Freight load factor increased 61.4%, while available freight tonne-kilometers increased 5.5% year-over-year.
