Chris Young announces new label Home and announces “so much new music.”

After nearly two decades with Sony, Young has signed with Black River Entertainment.

Chris Young begins an exciting new chapter in his career with the announcement of a new label and new music.

The multi-platinum star announced the news to fans on Wednesday (December 4), admitting that he was “thrilled to start a new chapter with Black River Entertainment.”

In a video shot in the very studio where he recorded his smash hit “I’m Comin’ Over,” Young recorded a video message explaining how he landed on his new label.

“I couldn’t be more excited to tell you that I had 19 years of great work with the Sony team, but I got to be a free agent, so to speak, for the first time and I was shown so much love.” on the day I just signed the documents. The ink isn’t even dry yet and I couldn’t be happier to tell you, “I’m becoming an artist with Black River Entertainment and I’m just really excited for the next chapter,” he said.

He revealed plans to share “so much new music” and promised it would be released “very soon.”

This marks a significant change for Young, who has seemingly quietly left RCA Nashville, the label that has been his home since the start of his career.

In an official statement, Young, 39, shared: “I am thrilled to announce my new partnership with Black River Entertainment! RCA Nashville has been a fantastic home for me since 2006 when Joe Galante hired me to work with the Sony team, but it’s time for my next chapter. I couldn’t be more excited about the new music that’s on the way or my new home. Black River is a great company and they really impressed me with how much they believe in me and my future. I can’t wait to continue building my legacy as a Black River Entertainment artist with them.”

Gordon S. Kerr, President and CEO of Black River, added: “This is a historic day for Black River. With 14 No. 1s under his belt, Chris has left an undeniable mark on country music. His songwriting and vocal excellence make him a leader in the genre, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together on this amazing journey.”

The Grand Ole Opry member comes to Black River Entertainment with a long list of achievements, including nine studio albums, over nine billion global streams, 14 career No. 1 singles, 25 RIAA-certified projects and numerous ACM, AMA, CMA and GRAMMY Nominations and awards for “Performance of the Year” and “Collaborative Video of the Year” at the CMT Music Awards.

Black River Records’ artist roster also includes Kelsea Ballerini, MaRynn Taylor, Scotty Hasting and Pryor Baird.
