Cincinnati Bengals publish Alex Cappa, add additional cap space in front of the free agency

Cincinnati – The Bengals released the veteran guard Alex Cappa on Monday.

Cappa made 50 starts for Cincinnati after signing the Bengals in 2022. He helped them for the AFC championship game this season and was seen as their best offensive line this season.

The Bengals delete 8 million US dollars in Cap Space by publishing the veteran. There is a 2.25 million US dollar dead cap hit with the publication, but this is a step that appeared after the fights that Cappa had in 2024.

This gives the Bengals more than 68 million US dollars on CAP place to work with the free agency.

In a perfect world, Cincinnati could find the next Cappa. He was a good signing in 2022 and performed at a high level, but was not the same after the ankle injury he had suffered late in the season.
