Class 1A No. 3 Montezuma too much for LS girls – Newton Daily News

SULLY — The Lynnville-Sully girls basketball team rebounded from a slow start against Class 1A No. 3 Montezuma on Tuesday, but the Hawks couldn’t overcome second-half pressure from the Bravettes in a 51-41 home loss.

Montezuma won the South Iowa Cedar League game thanks to a 29-22 second-half lead.

“We need to improve our defensive communication and work on our positioning,” LS girls basketball head coach Jerry Hulsing said. “Our offensive implementation was lacking. The ball needs to move faster and the player’s movement needs to improve to find the open teammate.”
