Cleveland Browns will be asked to make a difficult RB decision

The Cleveland Browns lost a heartbreaker to the Denver Broncos on Monday night, and while Jameis Winston took much of the blame with three interceptions, the Browns also couldn’t get much from their rushing attack.

Cleveland totaled just 77 rushing yards on the night, and fan favorite Nick Chubb particularly struggled, carrying the ball nine times for 21 yards.

Things haven’t exactly been smooth sailing for Chubb since returning from his devastating knee injury, as he’s rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns in six games while averaging a paltry three yards per carry.

That’s why Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine believes the Browns absolutely need to use Jerome Ford at lead back.

“Perhaps Nick Chubb needs more time to get back to himself after his devastating knee injury last season. He may just be reaching the age limit as he turns 29 later this month. Either way, he’s not the Browns’ most explosive runner right now.” Ballentine wrote. “It might be time to officially take over from Jerome Ford as the main man.”

Ford threw the ball nine times for 41 yards against the Broncos and has totaled 339 yards and a score on the season while averaging 4.8 yards per attempt.

The 25-year-old hasn’t exactly put in great performances, but he’s certainly been more efficient than Chubb, who clearly appears to be on the downside of his career.

It could be an even tougher decision for Cleveland before the offseason as the Browns must decide whether or not to keep Chubb long-term.
