President Trump personally called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express the condolences and offer the perpetrators full support. Vice President JD Vance also turned to PM Modi, repeated the solidarity of the United States with India and offered support in combating terrorism.
In a quick reaction, India took several diplomatic and security steps. After a high-ranking cabinet committee for security committee (CCS), under the chairmanship of PM Modi, India explained the Pakistani defense consultants in Neu-Delhi as persona non grata and pulled back his own from Islamabad. Both countries will reduce their employees with a high commission by May 1 by almost half.
Further measures from India are the closure of the integrated checks in Attari, the suspension of the Indus water contract and the cancellation of visa exceptions for Pakistani nationals as part of the Saarc -Visa excavation scheme. Pakistani nationals in India under SVE -VISA have 48 hours to take off.
