Cloudy, rainy weather will blow through Dallas today. How long will it stay wet?

Be sure to grab your umbrellas before you leave your home in North Texas.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms began dumping much-needed rain in Dallas-Fort Worth early Wednesday and are expected to continue into the afternoon.

Showers should move out of the region later in the day and fog will form in the evening as a cold front moves through. Storms are not expected.

The rain will continue briefly on Wednesday after a dreary day before returning this weekend.

D-FW Weather wise

From snow to 100 degree heat, you’ve come to the right place.

Forecasts suggest a slow-moving system will produce widespread showers across the region as early as Friday night and continue into early Sunday. Thunderstorms are also possible.

“Precipitation totals will be highest in our southeastern counties, where 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected,” a forecast from the weather service said. “There is still some uncertainty in this forecast and a slower system would result in higher overall numbers.”

Temperatures in Dallas will be in the 50s before climbing into the upper 60s on Sunday with a weekend warmup. Lows will be in the 40s or high 30s.
