CM Punk’s Promo of the Year, End of the USA Network Era and More WWE Raw Takes | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

On January 11, 1993, Raw made its first appearance on the USA Network.

Over 1,200 episodes aired on the cable television network. This is a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.

While Raw moves to Netflix, SmackDown will continue to air on the USA Network for the foreseeable future, but this still feels like the end of an era.

WWE has aired a fine video package over the years that highlights many of the network’s greatest moments, but nothing broadcast live conveyed the significance of this final night.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins battled on the mic to promote a match set to hit Netflix next week, and Drew McIntyre tormented Jey Uso once again to start the show, although their in-ring bout is still in the future.

The Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament only featured semifinal matches, while Chad Gable and Otis finally had a duel that only lasted nine minutes.

As WWE looks forward, this would have been a great time to look back so that the main Raw stars could have their say at the end.

Legacy matches from Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Bayley or Rhea Ripley would have made a big difference.

Instead, WWE delivered the usual filler show in late December to end the longest network partnership in company history.
