Cold weather shelters are open in Brevard. Find out where they are

Low temperatures accompanied by strong winds led to some inclement weather shelters being opened in Brevard County this week.

Space Coast residents woke up Monday to temperatures in the low 40s, below normal for this time of year. It’s a small change from last week, when temperatures were above normal in the 80s.

Tuesday will continue to be colder than normal, with a low of 57° and a high of 64°. The cool wind will make it feel like the mid to low 30s.

There will be a gradual increase in temperatures throughout the week, peaking on Sunday with a predicted high of around 78 degrees.

“Temperatures will be closer to normal on Thursday evening and Friday morning, then back to normal on Sunday and into next week,” said Kole Fehling, a meteorologist at the National Weather Center in Melbourne.
