College of Southern Idaho basketball teams are winning

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – The College of Southern Idaho men’s and women’s basketball teams picked up stunning wins against Columbia State Community College and Lane Community College, respectively, on Saturday.

The women’s team gained a lead of 21:8 in the first quarter and couldn’t give up again in this quarter. It had a 19-point lead at halftime and a 32-point, 91-59 win.

Four CSI women reached double figures, with Savannah Stoker leading the way with 14 points. Kennedy Gillette recorded 12 points, Ashley Garner had 12 points to go and 10 boards for a double-double and finally Kayla Porray also added 10 points.

Next, the CSI women travel to Gillette, Wyoming for the Holiday Inn Classic on December 6th and 7th, where they will face Casper College and North Dakota State College of Science.

The men’s game was much closer Saturday night as Lane Community College shot the ball in front of and behind the arc while the Titans shot 52% from the field and 53% from three in the first half.

CSI also shot over 50% from the field at halftime and the two teams were tied at 44 points at halftime.

In the second half, CSI managed to secure a 10-point win (88-78) and like the women’s, several players had double figures while five men scored more than 10 points.

Isaac Hawkins led the way with 15 and added 11 boards in a double-double. Walker Timme and Gerry Guerrero recorded 14 and Tanner Hayhurst and Khayri Dunn recorded 12 each.

Next up, the CSI men have a few weekends off before heading to Yuma, Arizona for three games in three days starting Monday, December 16th.
