In these matchups, Columbus holds a slight edge with a record of 27-19-3-3. The record breakdown for those unfamiliar with a record reflecting a tie is 27W, 19L, 3T and 3OTL.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets had some success against the Flyers. Both teams are currently in similar situations. Both are working their way out of a rebuild and want to fight for a spot in the playoffs.

Despite the positive overall balance, there is one glaring problem for Columbus in the game against Philadelphia: Travis Konecny.

The Flyers forward has always been a thorn in the side of the Blue Jackets, earning the nickname “Jackets Killer” from my colleague Jason Newland.

In just 27 games against the Blue Jackets, he scored 32 points, including key goals and game-winning plays. Whether it’s an assist or a big goal, he always seems to find a way to impact the game when these two teams meet.

His performances often come when the Flyers need a spark, making him a nightmare for the Blue Jackets. Columbus will have to find a way to contain him if they want to continue picking up wins against Philadelphia
