Concessions to return on the State Island Ferry for the first time since pre-COVID

STATEN ISLAND (WABC) – The Staten Island Ferry announced the return of concessions in the next two months, with Dunkin selected as the concessionaire.

The New York Department of Transportation said this would be the first time refreshments would be offered on the ferries since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Dunkin offers a selection of coffee and donuts.

With this procurement, which will allow the sale of alcohol on the ferries, Dunkin is seeking all the permits necessary to sell beer.

Dunkin was selected through a competitive process initiated through a request for proposals announced in January.

“The Staten Island Ferry is the busiest urban ferry service in the country and we are pleased that riders will soon be able to enjoy discounts again,” said Ydanis Rodriguez, NYC DOT Commissioner.
