Convicted sex offender, Prairieville man arrested for attempted first-degree murder | Pelican Post

On Friday, November 22nd, officers responded to a shooting on Camden Drive in Prairieville. During their investigation, investigators discovered two victims who were shot but were uninjured. Hendricks was identified as a suspect and investigators obtained an arrest warrant for him.

On Monday, November 25, investigators located Hendricks at his home and attempted to arrest him. Hendricks fled from officers in a vehicle and ran over a marked patrol unit. After a brief vehicle pursuit, Hendricks was arrested along Burnside Avenue in Gonzales. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, on Monday, November 25, officers arrested Christopher Hendricks, 32, of Prairieville, on the following charges:

  • Two counts of attempted first-degree murder
  • Two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm
  • Illegal use of weapons
  • Serious property damage
  • Possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapons by a person convicted of certain crimes
  • Aggravated escape of an officer
  • Ruthless operation
  • Aggravated obstruction of a trade route
  • Hit and run
  • Three counts of trespassing
  • Resisting an officer

The defendant was held at the Ascension Parish Jail from September 21 to October 28 following his arrest Failure to register and report as a sex offender or child predator. The defendant was released after posting $50,000 bail.
