“Together with other law enforcement agencies, the Conway police authority is currently examining a shootout that took place near 5th Avenue Park. We ask the public to avoid the area during the investigation. Further details are released when they are available,” said Conway’s police department in a post on Facebook.

Videos of the scenes show that park -owners fled in panic after the shots were fired.

Several witnesses reported shortly after the shootout appeared on Facebook.

“In Conway there was a shootout in one of the parks. We were on the road and saw the massive reaction of the police, but were already at home before we found what happened.

Another reported: “Someone knows what happens near the sixth street? Tons of ambulances, fire engines and police cars.”

A third witness reported: “Keeping in the park in Conway, Arkansas, at least 5 people who met. You can see Fire & Mems who try to save a few people.”

Another witness wrote: “I was there. They start shooting right next to me. Two people are now dead. I think 4 shots.”
