Cops make an incredible discovery after stopping a Rolls Royce for drink driving

California police discovered a monkey traveling in a Rolls-Royce Ghost when they stopped the vehicle on suspicion of drunk driving.

According to authorities, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers in Madera County stopped the luxury vehicle Monday evening for traveling at “excessive speed” on Highway 99.

The driver, Ali Mused Adelmuhomed, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of cannabis for sale.

Before his arrest, police found the adorable month-old spider monkey, wearing a pink polka dot shirt, in the reckless driver’s jacket pocket.

“A next level monkey business!” wrote the CHP in a Facebook statement.

Owning primates is illegal in California, so police charged him with possession of an exotic animal.

The little monkey was taken to animal control for proper care and Adelmuhomed was booked into the Madera County Jail.

“With New Year’s Day just hours away, CHP Madera reminds everyone to celebrate,” the CHP said.

The CHP post about the arrest sparked hundreds of online reactions, many of which gushed about the perpetrator’s “little friend.”

“Awwww I’m taking him with me dear monkeys,” one user reacted.

Another agreed: “OMG the monkey is so cute!!”

“I want one,” someone added.

This bizarre incident comes just over a month after an influencer was arrested for a drunk driving accident in Texas with her pet spider monkey in the car.

Fashion influencer Brandi Botello had her three-month-old furry friend taken away from her after she wrecked her car with him inside.

The spider monkey, named Jorgie Boy, was taken to Funky Monkey Ranch near Burleson after the accident, where staff said he had rickets.

He weighs just six pounds – half the weight of a spider monkey his age – and had tiny bone fractures due to metabolic bone disease caused by poor nutrition.

Botello pleaded with police to return Jorgie Boy after Dallas police found her in a wrecked car early on the morning of November 9th.

Jorgie Boy was sleeping on her lap when the vehicle hit the curb so hard that the wheels flew off, but the monkey was not injured by the impact.

She said: “The last few days have been the hardest days of my life, I’m devastated. “I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I can’t sit still.

“I’m so used to waking up every morning with him hugging my face, we do everything together, we share food, we take a bath together, I’m ready to keep doing my best to bring him home. “

“It breaks my heart to know that he is probably locked up even though he has never been in one before being with me 24/7.”

Botello was charged with driving under the influence, but claimed it was a “very drunk” young man who was driving and she got into the driver’s seat shortly before police arrived.

Botello admitted she was drunk and passed out in the passenger seat and shouldn’t have put herself or Jorgie Boy in that situation, but called it “a mistake.”

Dallas police turned the monkey over to the city of Irving, where Botello lives, which transferred him to a wildlife refuge.

Botello fought to get it back.
