Corbin Burnes leads Diamondbacks in Wrigley Field to face Cubs

The Arizona Diamondbacks start the second stage of their six games on Friday afternoon with a game in Wrigley Field against the Cubs. The first pitch is 11:20 a.m. MST, 1:20 p.m. CST. The two teams have on March 27th. March-30. March divided a four-game series on the chase Field.

The D-Backs have had a three-game swey from the Miami Marlins, while the Cubs dropped two of three on the Padres. Chicago leads the NL Central over the Milwaukee Brewers with a game with 12: 9 record. Despite a 13: 7

Although it is still very early in the season, it is critical to win the series because it would give the D-Backs a better head-to-head record.

RHP Corbin Burnes, 0-1, 5.28 ERA, 5.87 FIP in 15.1 IP. Burnes makes its fourth start for the diamondbacks. He threw a quality start against the Brewers on April 12th. He went six in ours and allowed three deserved runs with four goals, two walks and three strikeouts. He allowed a Homer in the D-Backs of victory.

While the reduction in walks was a welcome sign, the lack of strikes and swing and a sign that he still has not fully dialed. The teams stacked against him at the beginning of the left. In recent years, he saw about 50/50 divided into record appearances by left and right -wing battery. So far, only 62% of his PA have been against batteries against the left.

Ironically, however, Burnes has a large rejection in a small rehearsal. In 26 PA, the right batters with two Homern have become 9-opposite-26, 360. The left batters are only 6-against-31, .194 with a Homer. Eight of his nine hiking problems came against battery in the left hand.

RHP Colin Rea, 0-0, 1.00 ERA, 1.77 FIP in 9 IP. Rea spent the two previous seasons with the Brewers and made 49 starts and nine aid appearances, which were with an ERA of 4.40 and 4.87 FIP with 18 to 12. The brewers rejected its 2025 option and made it a free agent. In January he signed a contract with the Cubs for one year and a player option for 2026.

Starting with the year in the Bullpen, Rea was pushed back into a starting role because Justin Steele had to be elbow operation in the season. Ray had started three goalless relief against the Dodgers on April 13. He threw 68 parking spaces and is about to be stretched out for the workload of a starter. Expect that the Cubs enable him to approach the 80 pitch brand.

Rea throws 94-95 miles per hour four souls and sinks together with sweeper, curve, cutter and even a splinter from time to time.

Torey Lovullo is more or less liable with his set line -up. Gabriel Moreno is back at Catcher after having a day off on Thursday. Jake McCarthy plays in midfield after having missed three games from a Pitch hit last Sunday because of a sore hand.

The top four in the order, Corbin Carroll (1.064 ops), Geraldo Perdomo (.919 Ops), Pavin Smith (1.236 OPS) and Josh Naylor (. Carroll is second in the NL behind Fernando Tatis Jr. and could be a strong MVP candidate this year.

Eugenio Suarez has been open in five games with five Homers since the year. He was only five for 49, .102 with 22 strikeouts. Suárez and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (.145 average) is of crucial importance for the D-Backs if they want to maintain their top crime (3. In MLB in runs with 5.47).

The Cubs list is headed by the MVP candidate Kyle Tucker, who already has an OPS, five Homer and 19 RBI. Michael Busch (.927 Ops) and Seiya Suzuki (.904 Ops) were the other top grids in the team. The former Diamondback Carson Kelly beats .404 with four homers in 40 record appearances and divides the time at Fänger with Miguel Amaya.

The Cubs have achieved 5.90 runs per game, and this is largely due to a deep, balanced line -up. Ian Happ (.631) Ops ad dansby Swanson (.571 ops) are slow starts.

Torey Lovullo will probably be without the help of Co-Closers AJ Puk and Justin Martinez, both of whom have worked in the Marlins series for two days. Jalen Beeks also worked in the last two days, and Ryan Thompson threw 33 pitches on Thursday with an up-down

Strangely enough, Lovullo Ryne Nelson did not use in the game on Thursday, although the right -handed man had thrown 36 pitch on April 12th on four days. Exciting Nelson together with Bryce Jarvis and possibly Joe Mantiply, who fought a mighty up to a 13.50-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-.

In contrast, the Bullpen of the Cubs is well rested thanks to an off -day day yesterday. Your closer Ryan Pressley, the primary setup men, Porter Hodge and Julian Merryweather, and Linfty Caleb Thielbar, each set up on Tuesday.
