He later announced that he would eat the banana on November 29th. “The banana will be eaten on November 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. GMT+8. Stay tuned,” he shared.

Justin Sun ate the fruit during a press conference in Hong Kong and used the moment to draw parallels between the artwork and cryptocurrency. “Eating it at a press conference can also become part of the story of the artwork,” Sun was quoted as saying by the BBC. “It’s much better than other bananas,” he added.

According to the report, everyone who attended Friday’s event received a banana and a roll of duct tape as a souvenir.
