CSA Racing will switch from Audi to McLaren in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS as part of a new “long-term partnership” with the British manufacturer.

The French squad has been using Audi machinery for three years, first debuting in the FFSA GT Championship before entering Fanatec GT Europe last year.

It enjoyed its strongest Sprint Cup season to date this year, with Simon Gachet and Lucas Legeret claiming two class wins en route to second place in the Gold Cup standings.

As part of its new partnership with McLaren, the team will compete in both the Sprint and Endurance championships with two vehicles, one of which will be a Pro entry.

Last season, only the British team Garage fielded 59 professional entries for McLaren in endurance or sprint competition.

CSA is the latest squad to leave Audi in recent years after the Ingolstadt brand ended its factory-backed racing activities earlier this year.

Comtoyou Racing and Boutsen VDS moved to Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG respectively ahead of the start of this year’s Fanatec GT Europe season, while ABT Sportsline ended its decade-long DTM partnership with the Ingolstadt brand in favor of a move to Lamborghini.

Audi recently handed over the 310th and final R8 LMS racing car produced to Michelin 24H Series regular Michael Doppelmayr.
