Cucumbers sold in New Jersey recalled due to salmonella

Do you love cucumbers?

Tonight it’s announced that there has been a recall affecting pickles in 26 states across the country. If you love pickles and usually buy them at your local grocery store, be sure to check what you have in the fridge.

According to a report from Patch, the Food and Drug Administration announced this week that these particular pickles (sold in 26 states) may be contaminated with salmonella.

Accordingly Patch, “The cucumbers produced by SunFed Produce of Arizona are packaged in large cardboard containers labeled “SunFed” or in an ordinary white box or black plastic crate with a sticker bearing the name of the producer in question: “Agrotato, SA de.” CV The recalled cucumbers were sold between October 12th and November 26th.”

These pickles were sold in New Jersey and these 25 other states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma , Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

According to the patch report “For more information, please contact SunFed’s recall hotline at (888) 542-5849.”

Symptoms of a salmonella infection may include vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea and nausea. If you have any concerns, please contact your doctor immediately.

Accordingly Statista Americans consume approx 8.2 pounds of fresh cucumbers per person per year. Additionally, Americans consume an average of 9 to 11 pounds of pickles per person annually.”
