Daddy Yankee claims estranged wife withdrew million and files restraining order amid split

Daddy Yankee has reportedly filed a lawsuit against his estranged wife Mireddys González, claiming she withdrew $80 million from his El Cartel Records bank account “without authorization,” according to court documents obtained by him billboard.

The Puerto Rican rapper (Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez) filed the restraining order on Thursday, December 12, in San Juan against González, 47, her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos and El Cartel Records, which Yankee founded and where González supposedly CEO and González Castellanos is secretary/treasurer.

Although 47-year-old Daddy Yankee is “the owner of the company’s stock” and “the reason for the existence” of Cartel Records Inc., according to the filing, he lacks access, interference and information on everything he created and continues to generate and to which he is entitled.”

As a result, the “Dura” musician is demanding “the immediate removal of plaintiffs from any role or involvement in the companies as officers or administrators and the release of the information and documents they have unlawfully withheld.”

Daddy Yankee alleges that González and González Castellanos attempted to “exercise greater power over the cartel’s operations than authorized, resulting in detrimental and negligent performance for the company.”

The Latin Grammy winner also claims they “failed to provide an accurate account of their actions” and “disregarded formalities and requirements of corporate law.”

The complaint also alleges that González hired a third party to represent El Cartel in the sale of a portion of the plaintiff’s music catalog that Concord had acquired. Daddy Yankee claims the agreed amount was “unreasonable, disproportionate and far below the actual value.”

Allegedly, Daddy Yankee “does not know the actual scope of the transaction, nor does he have detailed knowledge of what was and was not sold, nor of the restrictions he may have on the use of his musical creations.”

Representatives for González have not yet responded to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

The “Gasolina” singer continued, “After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save the marriage that my wife and I share, today my lawyers responded to the Mireddys’ divorce petition.”

“I respect Mireddys’ decision,” Daddy Yankee wrote, adding that he valued their time together.
